Barbering 2 is a short, non-vocational certificate course focused on the practical application of cutting, fading, and shaving techniques on live models. Completing either Barbering 1 or Barbering 2, or both courses, does not by itself qualify or authorize you to work as a barber or hairstylist in Ontario.
Curriculum
•Consultation
•Classic cut with machine and scissors
•Blunt cut
•Layered cut
•Shampooing, scalp massage, and hair styling with blow dryer, round brush, and hot tools
•Observation of barbers under instructor guidance with Q&A
•Hair cut, line up, and fade
•Tapered cuts
•Bald fade
•Razor skills
•Hot towel shave
Practical Application
•All exercises are completed on live models.
•Students are required to recruit 6 male models with a beard. The academy assists where possible.
